Reducing your carbon footprint.
How about it? Your speed is one of the main factors in determining how much oil it will take you from getting from one point to the next. You are one of 6.6 billion human beings living on the earth. So, what was the hurry again?

I seem to remember a time when the speed limits were lowered. If the trucking industray protests, maybe they especially need your message. Wishing you best of luck in getting the message across. Barbara G. Florida
Thank you for your grassroots efforts! I should also thank you for bringing such a fantastic human being into this world (I know your daughter personally)! Here would be a great place to put some web links to sites that calculate your carbon footprint - like www.safeclimate.com. Everyone should take a hard look at what their foorprint is and be responsible citizens of the world. Thank you for showing me that I can be more responsible by slowing down!
But I do wish to encourage people to slow down, for other practical reasons. As a form of political protest. Because it's one of the easiest temporary stopgap measures to try to boost gas milage. Because it's safer and more relaxing to drive slower. Because some people still have to drive to work, but can protest by driving slower.
Cars, like medical care, shouldn't be a mere perk of the filthy rich (who won't feel any need to conserve no matter what the price), but affordable to the working poor. We shouldn't be forced to drive tiny unsafe vehicles, just to afford gasoline. But we could try driving slower for a while, as a way to peacefully protest the OUTRAGIOUS PRICE GOUGING!
